About Us The Mission

Nuclear Glory Collision (NGC)

- Collision the easy way -

Here's exactly what the engine does:

The positions of the objects are all updated for you automatically when you start moving them.

All of the objects in your world can be moving simultaneously. The collision plugin will handle it.

The little bit of work it takes to use this engine is invested all in the setup of your objects.

The NGC technology is an integral part of our NF and NB software.

What the NGC can do for you

These are the different methods of collision allowed:
  • Ellipsoid to ellipsoid collision
  • Ellipsoid to mesh collision
  • Ray to ellipsoid collision
  • Ray to mesh collision
  • Here are the different reponses for your object(s):
  • stick
  • slide
  • slide with special slope handling - for steep inclines if your world has gravity
  • no response - good for invisible triggers/hotzones
  • Optimizations:
  • Internal quick OOBB (Object Oriented Bounding Box) testing to skip objects out of range fast.
  • Internal binary trees for wicked-fast collision testing with a mesh.

  • This setup works perfect for space fighters, first person shooters, and 3rd person games.

All you do is assign an ellipsoid to your spaceship and it automatically collides with all of the dynamic geometry in your world. Because of it's shape you can easily walk up/down staircases, walk under/over/around points, edges, ramps, etc...

Raycasting is good for bullets, light calculation routines, etc...

This plugin works with any mesh you can load.

Smoking speed in the latest release (v4.02.00).

Performance of this system has been pushed very hard. You can cast a ray (a 3D line) across a 120,000 polygon mesh in less than one-tenth of a millisecond. This takes about 20 to 45 milliseconds in most other solutions. Sliding ellipsoid collision moves at the same speed as raycasting.

    License free

You can use it freely for commercial purposes in as many games/applications as you want. You can use it with a team too provided the members do not use the plugin for their own private projects.

Current languages supported: Dark Basic PRO and C++
