[ Nuclear Basic - Frequently Asked Questions ]* What is Nuclear Basic? For an overview please see the [ Nuclear Basic ] page. * Is it royalty free?Yes! Anything you make with Nuclear Basic is exempt from royalties including commercial and non-commercial software. * What model formats are supported? The .x, .b3d, and .n3d model formats are supported. Most tools on the market have an export pipeline to the .b3d format (recommended). * Is there a native format?Yes, the local format for Nuclear Basic & Fusion is .n3d (Nuclear 3D) Any model/scene you load or create in Nuclear Basic can be saved directly to the .n3d format with one call. This allows your model/scene to reload quickly in optimized form. * What image formats are supported? For textures on your 3D objects:
.bmp, .dds, .jpg, .png
For standard loading/editing/saving:
.ico .cur .bmp .gif .jpg .jif .png .tga .pcx
* Is it any good for scene and media editing?Absolutely. See the [ Tools & Editors page ] * Is it fast?Totally. When launching a game the program kicks into high performance mode. The number of cores on the processor is detected and the engine self-regulates its performance to max out the processor without freezing everything up. The above is coupled with optimizations at every turn and methods to boost frames. * What if I want to make a light weight program? No problem. The default for standard applications is a low performance mode (usually 0%-1% processor) and you can always toggle high performance mode on or off. * Is there plugin support?Yes, please see the [ Plugin Support page ] * What version of DirectX is required?DirectX 11 is preferred but DirectX 9.0c is a minimum requirement to run any games (exported games work back to Win98). Standard applications without 3D don't require DirectX at all. * Where do I go from here? The support section will help you with any additional questions you have. The product page will take you anywhere else you want to go. |
